Maruya was honored to receive the Outstanding Finish / Paint Award at Europe's largest Handmade Bicycle Show - BESPOKED held in Bristol, the UK for three days from May3rd to 5th, 2019. Maruya is the first Japanese Brand to receive an award at BESPOKED. The Outstanding Finish / Paint award at BESPOKED, which marks “premium” for high class, is very valuable.
Because finishing and painting are important factors in realizing "premium". The elaborate frame by NJS (KEIRIN ) builder Murayama also became more beautiful by the wonderful design, painting and finishing.
The reason why we chose BESPOKED held in the UK as the stage for DAIKOKU's debut was to explore the reactions and impressions of discerning European lovers. It is because Maruya thought that a more attractive bicycle could be developed by daringly selecting Europe with a long history of bicycles and high levels. And the concept was 'Universal Elegance from Japan'. We are emphasizing Japanese identity by eliminating Western copy design.Specifically, it is a world-class design that is elegantly integrated with the city in Paris and Kyoto.
The award-winning DAIKOKU has a motif of traditional Japanese beauty, lacquer and lacquer. In order to reproduce the color of real lacquer with durable urethane coating, we asked for lacquer shop Yamakyu how to make color. As a result of continuing "sticky" without making compromises in all processes, I believe that it was evaluated by BESPOKED. MARUYA is grateful to BESPOKED for his evaluation despite his first exhibition. We once again felt the depth of the nostalgia and culture of Europe represented by The UK.
